Fruit medley with undertones of smoke on the nose - almost jammy. Beach bonfire dessert. Lovely intro to the world of peated whiskies. Good V4$.

Rich biscuity smoke with some herbal notes on the nose. Round with a spicy mouthfeel. Solid, substantial and a great introduction to a light peated whisky for the uninitiated. Mild astringency on the finish.

I've always loved peaty scotch, but now I'm starting to prefer the gentleness and subtle complexities of many Hihgland and Speyside malts. So this Double Black is bridging that gap. The peat on the nose softens to a smoother vanilla on teh palate andfinishes with a lingering warmth. Not an exceptional whisky, but very enjoyable.

Soft peat and smoke followed by fresh fruit on nose; lovely soft sweet peat on palate with touch of licorice following; sweet smokey and soft peaty finish. An excellent dram to introduce a novice to peated whiskies. And, an excellent value at $44 CDN for one litre at Duty Free shops/airlines.
